A simple, hearty meal made entirely in the air fryer—crispy potatoes, juicy steak, and rich herb butter for the perfect finishing touch.
Ingredients
2 ribeye, sirloin, or T-bone steaks (about 1 inch thick)
2–4 medium potatoes
2 tbsp olive oil (divided)
2 tsp salt (divided)
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika (optional)
Butter, for serving
Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, parsley), for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and scrub the potatoes well, then pat them dry.
Pierce each potato a few times with a fork.
Rub with olive oil and 1 tsp salt.
Place them in the air fryer basket and cook at 200°C (400°F) for 30–35 minutes, turning halfway through.
If your air fryer is small, you can partially cook the potatoes first, then add the steaks later. - Season the Steaks
While the potatoes are cooking, prepare the steaks.
Rub both sides with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using). Let them sit at room temperature while the potatoes finish cooking. - Cook the Steaks
When the potatoes are almost done (around 20–25 minutes in), push them to the side or temporarily remove them.
Place the steaks in the air fryer basket.
Cook at 200°C (400°F):
8–10 minutes for medium-rare (flip halfway through)
10–12 minutes for medium
Adjust time based on thickness and preference - Rest & Serve
Remove the steaks and let them rest for 5 minutes so the juices redistribute.
Slice the potatoes open, add butter, and sprinkle with fresh herbs.
Top the steaks with a pat of herb butter and serve immediately.
