Sugar-Free Soft Milk Bread

Perfect for breakfast, sandwiches, or Ramadan ftour. Soft like cotton and naturally slightly sweet from milk — no added sugar!

📝 Ingredients (8–9 rolls)

  • 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (240ml) warm milk (not hot)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast (7–10g)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp powdered milk (optional, for extra softness)

🔹 No sugar added!

🔹 If you want a slight natural sweetness, you can add 1 tbsp honey (optional).

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Activate yeast (optional but recommended)
    Mix warm milk + yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until slightly foamy.
  2. Mix ingredients
    In a bowl, combine flour, salt, powdered milk.
    Add egg, butter, and milk mixture.
  3. Knead
    Knead 8–10 minutes until soft and elastic.
    (If sticky, add 1 tbsp flour at a time.)
  4. First rise
    Cover and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Shape
    Divide into 8–9 equal balls.
    Place in a greased baking dish close together.
  6. Second rise
    Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes.
  7. Bake
    Brush with milk or egg wash.
    Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–22 minutes until golden.
  8. Soft finish trick
    Brush with a little butter right after baking and cover with a clean towel for 10 minutes.
