Ingredients
1.5–2 kg (3–4 lbs) beef chuck roast
1 packet ranch seasoning mix
1 packet brown gravy mix
1 packet Italian dressing mix
1/2 cup water
4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
3 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 onion, sliced
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Roast
Season the beef lightly with salt and pepper. For extra flavor, sear it in a hot pan for 2–3 minutes per side until browned (optional but recommended).
Step 2: Layer the Ingredients
Place potatoes, carrots, and onion at the bottom of the slow cooker. Lay the roast on top.
Step 3: Add the Seasoning
In a small bowl, mix ranch seasoning, gravy mix, Italian dressing mix, and water. Pour the mixture evenly over the roast.
Step 4: Slow Cook
Cover and cook on:
Low: 8–10 hours
High: 4–6 hours
Until the meat is fork-tender and easily pulls apart.
Step 5: Serve
Carefully remove the roast and slice or shred. Spoon the rich gravy over the meat and vegetables.
Serving Suggestions
Serve hot with the slow-cooked vegetables and extra gravy
Pair with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread
Add a side of green beans or a fresh salad for balance
Notes & Tips
Best cut: Chuck roast works best for tenderness and flavor.
Searing adds depth: Don’t skip it if you have time.
Thicker gravy: Mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and stir into the sauce at the end.
Extra richness: Add a splash of beef broth instead of water.
Make ahead: Flavors get even better the next day.
