🧾 Ingredients

Apple mixture

  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Bread batter

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–3 tbsp milk or cream

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Prepare apples 🍏
    • Mix chopped apples with 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.
    • Set aside.
  3. Make cinnamon sugar
    • Mix 1/3 cup brown sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon in a small bowl.
  4. Prepare batter
    • Cream butter and white sugar until fluffy.
    • Beat in eggs one at a time.
    • Add vanilla.
  5. Add dry ingredients
    • Mix flour + baking powder together.
    • Add to batter alternately with milk until smooth.
  6. Layer the bread 🥧
    • Pour half the batter into the pan.
    • Add half the apples and half the cinnamon sugar.
    • Lightly swirl with a knife.
    • Add remaining batterapples, and cinnamon sugar.
  7. Bake
    • Bake 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool
    • Let bread cool about 15 minutes, then remove from pan.
  9. Add glaze 🍥
    • Mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth.
    • Drizzle over the bread.
