These soft and fluffy baked apple fritters are packed with fresh apples, warm cinnamon, and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. They deliver all the comforting flavor of classic apple fritters without deep frying, making them perfect for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon treat.
Ingredients
For the Fritters
2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
Drop heaping spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 14–16 minutes, or until the fritters are golden brown and cooked through.
While the fritters cool slightly, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Drizzle or brush the glaze over the warm fritters.
Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving.
Tips
Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji apples work especially well.
Add a pinch of nutmeg for extra warm spice flavor.
Serve warm for the best texture and taste.
