🛒 Ingredients
For the chicken:
6 bone-in or boneless chicken thighs
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon olive oil
For the honey garlic glaze:
⅓ cup honey
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
1 teaspoon sesame seeds, optional
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
👩🍳 Instructions
- Season the chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder and paprika.
- Crisp the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down if using skin-on thighs. Cook until deeply golden and crispy, then flip and cook until the chicken is nearly cooked through.
- Make the glaze: In a small bowl, mix together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, vinegar or lemon juice, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Glaze the chicken: Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the honey-garlic mixture into the skillet. Add the butter and gently toss or spoon the glaze over the chicken.
- Finish cooking: Continue cooking for a few minutes until the sauce becomes glossy and slightly thickened and the chicken is fully cooked.
- Serve: Remove from the heat and spoon the sticky glaze over the chicken. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and fresh parsley if desired.
