Introduction
Oregano is a fragrant herb that has been used for centuries in traditional remedies. It contains natural compounds with antioxidant properties and is often enjoyed as a soothing herbal tea.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon fresh oregano leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried oregano)
1 cup (240 ml) water
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
Bring the water to a gentle boil.
Add the oregano leaves and reduce the heat.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and let steep for another 5 minutes.
Strain into a cup.
Add honey and lemon juice if desired.
Serve warm and enjoy.
Tips
Use fresh oregano for a stronger flavor.
Drink 1–2 cups per day as part of a balanced diet.
Store fresh oregano in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Important Note
While oregano contains beneficial plant compounds, claims that it is “30 times stronger than lemon or garlic” or that it can kill bacteria and fungi in the human body should be treated with caution. Oregano tea is not a substitute for medical treatment.
