Deep-Clean Tile Grout (Actually Works)

Description
This method targets dirt, grease, and discoloration in grout lines using ingredients that don’t cancel each other out. It’s simple, affordable, and far more effective than mixing everything together.
Ingredients
Option 1 (Best for general grime):
1/2 cup baking soda
Water (just enough to form a paste)
White vinegar (in a spray bottle)
Option 2 (Stronger for tough stains):
1/2 cup baking soda
1–2 tbsp hydrogen peroxide
1 tsp dish soap
Instructions
Step 1: Apply Paste
Mix baking soda with a little water (or peroxide for stronger version) to form a thick paste.
Spread it directly onto grout lines.
Step 2: Activate (Optional)
Lightly spray vinegar over the paste (only if using Option 1).
Let it fizz—this helps loosen dirt.
Step 3: Let It Sit
Leave for 5–10 minutes so it can break down grime.
Step 4: Scrub
Use a stiff brush or old toothbrush to scrub the grout lines.
Step 5: Rinse
Wipe clean with warm water or mop the area.
Tips & Notes
Don’t mix everything at once—it weakens the effect
Hydrogen peroxide works better than lemon for whitening
Use a grout brush for deeper cleaning
Seal grout afterward if you want longer-lasting results
Always test a small area first
Pro Tip
If grout is very dark or moldy, household mixes might not be enough—use a commercial grout cleaner or a small amount of diluted bleach (with ventilation).
