📝 Ingredients
For the Filling:
300 g (10 oz) minced beef (or lamb)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
For the Pastry:
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
1 egg (for egg wash)
🍳 Instructions
Prepare the Filling
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft. Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.
Cook the Meat
Add minced meat to the pan. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
Finish the Filling
Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley. Let the mixture cool slightly before using.
Prepare the Pastry
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
Assemble the Rolls
Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
Roll and Slice
Carefully roll the pastry into a log shape. Slice into equal portions (about 5–7 cm each).
Arrange & Brush
Place the rolls on a lined baking tray. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
Bake
Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for 20–25 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
Cool Slightly
Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
